Update:PKR Kedah lawmaker quits party.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — Lunas assemblyman Mohd Radzhi Salleh today quit as PKR member to become an independent lawmaker in Kedah.

Radzhi, who is also a Kedah state executive councillor, did not relinquish his government position.

“We are only unhappy with the PKR state and central leadership, but we maintain a good relationship with the state government,” said Radzhi’s political aide Jamaruddin Abu Hassan.

Jamaruddin, the Padang Serai PKR acting division chief, also announced the dissolution of the division today.

“The decision today has nothing to do with Ustaz Azizan,” he told The Malaysian Insider referring to Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Razak.

Radzhi won the state seat by more than 10,000 votes in the last general election.

His resignation today marks the second time the Kedah Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has been hit by internal crisis.

In July, DAP’s sole assemblyman, Lee Guan Aik threatened to withdraw from the state PR after disagreements with the PAS-led government.
